Rio games’ results: Best sources of live sports news
Rio games are finally here and they are not leaving our side for 17 days straight!

Keep track of live sports news and results on your mobile with these sites:

NBC Olympics

BBC Olympics

Rio official games’ page

ESPN Olympics

Olympic.org

Browse the best Olympics live news websites in the Opera Mini mobile browser, and save up to 90% of your data with Opera compression. Take a look at the best features of each site and get the most out of this year’s Rio games!

1) NBC Olympics

We find this source extra useful when getting live sports news, although some features of the app can’t be enjoyed on the website version. NBC Olympics has its own live news feed, which shows the highlights of each competition that’s happening at that moment. Did we mention it’s updated constantly? Look at that screenshot!

2) BBC Olympics

Now you can find a menu option entirely dedicated to Rio games on BBC Sport. If you would like some humor on your live news feed, then make sure to check out the live reporting on the [Live] Day “x” section.

3) Rio official games’ page

Of course you can get live sports news here as well. But, if there’s something to highlight about this website, that is the detailed information they provide. Quickly find out more about the team or athlete that is competing. Go to the “burger” menu – on the right upper corner of your screen – and choose an event on “Right Now”, to see minute-by-minute updates, previous results, stats and more. You can also find extra information about the team or athletes you’re rooting for on the “Athletes & Teams” section.

4) ESPN Olympics

Like BBC, ESPN has added a Rio games section. And getting live results here is a piece of cake! Just tap on the “Results” menu option and choose the date and sport you want to find out about. If the competition is happening, then you’ll see an “In progress” message next to the sport category.

5) Olympic.org

While we wouldn’t say the official Olympics site is our favorite site to get live news, it does stand out for other reasons. In our opinion, they offer a well organized, easy to use scheduled and you can find the best quality photos out there. What are you waiting for? Check it out now and plan your days off before Rio games are over.

Quick tip: Keep your favorite sources one tap away

For faster browsing, add favorite live news sources to your device home screen with Opera Mini. Quickly access the latest Rio news and results! Just tap on the “+” icon next to the URL bar on your Opera Mini. Then choose “Add to home screen”.

Did we miss any? Let us know in the comments below which is your favorite Rio news source! Or drop us a line on Twitter or Facebook.
